Current Statement: 19 March 2020
We know the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is a huge worry for everyone. There’s nothing more important than our health and the health of our loved ones. And there is no bigger challenge the world is facing than Coronavirus. As the outbreak develops we want to keep you informed on the steps we are taking at Universal Stone Ltd. to minimise disruption to operations and maintain the wellbeing of our staff and clients.
As much as possible, we are continuing to operate a full service out of our office and workshop in Essex in line with our business continuity plan.
Selected staff in higher risk categories are already working from home and all our staff have the ability to work remotely from home as necessary and have full access to our networks and document management systems.
In response to current guidance we are minimising face-to-face meetings to those essential for operational continuity. All training, networking and other non-essential gatherings/meetings have been postponed or moved to tele/video conferencing.
We would request that anyone identified in the higher-risk groups, who has travelled to any areas with high levels of coronavirus outbreaks or has any associated symptoms should not attend meetings. If you are unsure, please call us to discuss possible alternative arrangements.
All staff have been advised to avoid hand-shaking and other forms of physical contact. Workstations are over 2 meters apart continuing safe working distances with other members of staff throughout the day.
We are assessing every live project/contract and will take steps to minimise risks whilst taking reasonable steps to maintain progress. Our onsite staff are equipped with extra product to maintain a strict level of hygiene and for the safety of our clients and staff.
Where sites remain operational, and provided it is safe and reasonable to do so, we will continue to visit and monitor progress, manage issues and maintain the flow of information and finances in line with contractual provisions.
Please continue to call the direct dial or email the person dealing with your matter, or alternatively our Head Office reception on 01245 326 721.
Please be reassured that we are taking every reasonable step to continue to provide the highest levels of service.
Our current policies and procedures are under constant review and will be updated based on advice from the Government and consultation with our staff, partners, clients and suppliers.
If you have any concerns about any aspect of our service or your dealings with us or require any additional support at this time please do not hesitate to contact us. As always, thank you for your continuing support and understanding during these adjustments. Stay well and safe.
We will continue to update our website news page with COVID-19 information and keep you updated directly with any significant changes.
