Significant Grade II Listed Poplar Landmark Receives Restoration.
USL were delighted to be involved as principle contractor undertaking sensitive restoration, roofing and masonry repairs to Poplar’s All Saints Church. The Grade-II Listed building constructed of white Portland stone and granite was in need of vital emergency restoration to the upper level façade.
As part of a larger conservation programme for the Tower Hamlet area, USL undertook extensive works to give protection to this beautiful structure for many more years to come.
The project consisted of; high-level emergency restoration to upper-levels and roof areas including slate repairs to nave and quire room roof sections, restoration and masonry repairs, extensive lead-work involving flashings and roofing, gutters and abutments with tower, re-pointing & re-fixing works, rainwater goods/gutter bays and redecoration of oak dormers.
This is an area of particular special architectural and historic interest, illustrated by its rich history.
