USL is pleased to announce a new exciting Stonemasonry Apprenticeship Vacancy (Heritage Construction & Conservation) working in both Sudbury and in our Workshop/HQ in Wickford.

USL is an established leader in heritage restoration, conservation and construction, with a wealth of specialist knowledge and experience in stonemasonry and the preservation of buildings.  Working closely with our team, the apprentice will gain invaluable, hands-on experience and be directly involved in an exciting restoration project.

Due to ongoing expansion and new projects, an exciting vacancy has arisen for an apprentice to work in the Sudbury area. The ideal candidate would be conveniently located, to be able to access the live conservation project within the Sudbury area and to spend time training and working within our USL workshop in Battlesbridge, Essex.

Offering the following 'Earn while you work' opportunities:

• To work and train on prestigious historical buildings and landmarks in the South East.
• To work closely with a designated mentor and other USL employees on live projects that will help you develop a portfolio of college and workplace projects to reflect your training and study.
• Restoring buildings and monuments to their original condition
• Learn key techniques in stone masonry, restoration, and conservation. As well as develop a better understanding of working with stone as a building material through using a range of architectural components (hand & power tools).
• Train in aspects related to constructing and repairing stone (specific pathways available including banker, heritage and fixer)
• Train on Quality Assurance procedures and standards
• Assist with the organisation of materials, plant and resources.
