USL are pleased to share a new project with the National Trust, to restore and repair the lovely Edwardian house, Polesden Lacey Mansion House. Located on the North Downs at Great Bookham, near Dorking, Surrey, England. This Regency house is owned and run by the National Trust and is one of the Trust's most popular properties.
Our team of restoration specialists will be undertaking essential conservation works to stone, brick, render, timber, and leadwork to the external fabric of the mansion including the east elevation and clock cupola.
The programme will bring comprehensive conservation repairs to all surfaces followed by sensitive redecoration to harmonise the appearance of the yellow walls and balustrade render.
As a Grade II* listed property, the cupola is one of the most significant elements of the building, an iconic symbol seen from all directions. The team will carry out careful conservation and re-detailing of the leadwork and external timber joints to improve weatherproofing and prevent future water ingress and damage.
Below we have included some preworks photos. We look forward to presenting work-in-progress snaps in the near future.
