New Carvings for All Saints Church

29 March, 2023

Showcasing new decorative carvings from All Saints Church in Brightlingsea, Colchester. Our team has been dismantling pinnacles and parapet walls as part of urgent repairs to the tower across all elevations. Pinnacle conservation and stonemasonry works will incorporate replacing three of the four sides.

These new stone carvings have been created by USL stone mason Ziggy, from Ancaster Hard White Limestone.  This lovely natural stone has a consistent cream colour with occasional pink shading and varying amount of shell content.  Ancaster stone is middle Jurassic oolitic limestone, quarried around Ancaster, Lincolnshire, England.

An interesting conservation, refurbishment and extension project which includes; tower repairs, brickwork, flintwork walling, stone restoration, new stone elements, leadwork and metalwork renewal, glazing repairs, joinery and internal refurbishment. This Grade I listed building dating back to the 12th century.
