Nave Roof Update from the Regeneration Project at St Peter’s in Sudbury

22 February, 2023

USL is pleased to share a progression update from the regeneration project at St Peter’s in Sudbury.

Our team of heritage specialist have been working hard to conserve and restore the Nave roof.  The roof has been stripped out, conserved and repaired with new timbers and leadwork.  It’s wonderful to see the project progress.

The entire regeneration project aims to handle the urgent repairs that the building needs as well as add brand new facilities to make St Peter’s Church sustainable for the future. Some of these facilities include a new kitchen area, improved storage and new toilet facilities. Once reopened in 2023, the space will be used for many exciting events and activities while allowing the town to reconnect with its history.

This exciting project in the heart of Sudbury is made possible by the amazing support and dedication of Churches Conservation Trust, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, Babergh District Council, The Friends of St Peter’s, Mackman Group, Sudbury Town Council and many others.

We extend a big thank you to our onsite team for their dedication and craftsmanship.
