USL are back onsite at Creeksea Place Manor House carrying out vital phase II repairs to the roof, structural joinery, and chimneys of the Elizabethan wing, a project funded by Historic England.
Creeksea Place is located near to the town of Burnham-on-Crouch in the Essex countryside of eastern England. This Tudor mansion was originally built in 1569, the estate retains many original internal and external features, with an original walled-garden and untouched orchard, where the BBC’s adaptation of Great Expectations was filmed.
This largely C16 red brick house was suffering from an extensively delaying roof and structural timbers.
Big thank you to The Morton Partnership for their uplifting video demonstrating lintel repairs. This little clip features some hands-on training on carpentry repairs, under the vigilant guidance of our in-house team of experts.
We are pleased to work in collaboration to carry out these conservations works using traditional building skills and sympathetic materials.
