Fleet Street Church Receives Refurbishment and New Lighting Scheme

USL are pleased to share photos from the recently completed refurbishment and lighting scheme programme at St Dunstan-in-the-West.  A lovely Grade I listed Guild Church of London.

This exciting refurbishment and renewal project included the overhaul and upgrade of the lighting system throughout the church, formation of a new office, joinery, roof repairs, and redecoration of the new office, stonework in the church as well as M&E works.

Have you considered why a church lighting scheme is important?

in brief, a good lighting scheme will help people:

• See and move around freely
• Read service sheets and see projected images
• Appreciate what is special about your building
• And enjoy special events

The quality and direction of the light is as important as its intensity. And a well designed lighting scheme will take all of these things into consideration.

Control Systems - Why it is important to make sure your lighting scheme is easy to operate.

Most modern lighting systems have a computerised control system. This will be pre-set by the lighting designer to meet your needs.

The control system allows the lights to be adjusted for different:

• Parts of the church
• Events
• And times of year

Make sure that at least two people know how to use it. And keep a set of written instructions nearby.

Feel free to get in contact with our project team to find out more info on how upgrading your internal scheme can help your church.
