Universal Stone is pleased to share the exciting renaming and rebranding of the newly unveiled Sudbury Arts Centre.
Formerly known as St Peter's Cultural Venue - USL is honoured to work in partnership with The Churches Conservation Trust, The Bridge Project and the Friends of St Peter's on this exciting development and regeneration programme.
The venue, which is managed by the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT), is due to re-open to the public this autumn, upon the completion of major restoration work – financed by a £1.67m grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF), plus other funding sources.
St Peter’s on Market Hill has been formally rebranded as Sudbury Arts Centre, to match ambitions to re-establish the site as “the go-to venue for events, workshops, heritage and trying new things”. Sudbury Arts Centre will deliver far-reaching social benefits for Sudbury and the surrounding communities.
The project will deliver a range of physical improvements and repairs, and will also offer a wider programme of heritage and cultural activities, and will create staff posts to professionally manage the operation of the building.
Over the last few months, the USL team of specialist craftspeople have been undertaking an extensive refurbishment programme including much-needed repairs to the roof, the development of a new kitchen area, improved storage, a new heritage interpretation offer, a mezzanine floor, and new toilet facilities.
It is exciting to see this Grade I listed building come back to life as a vibrant arts and heritage venue in the bustling centre of Sudbury, Suffolk. We thank all our staff members and partners for their dedication and efforts on this tremendous project.
