Junior Contracts Manager (Construction & Stone Company)

Location:  Battlesbridge, Essex

Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities:

As a Contracts Manager, you will be reporting to the Senior Contracts Managers and Directors and working in conjunction with a core team.

The roles and responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project
  • From point of handover, organise your given projects
  • Procurement of materials and equipment etc
  • Prepare and monitor Construction phase programmes
  • Enforce and maintain health and safety protocols
  • Selection of and approval of Sub-contractor RAMS etc
  • Checking and maintaining quality on site
  • Preparation and attendance at site/client meetings
  • Maintain the job files with all correspondence etc
  • Overcome challenges on site proactively if needed
  • Fulfil your role as part of a team

The role is site and office-based and involves regular travel to and from sites. A full driving licence is therefore essential.

Experience/skills Desired:

  • 2+ years' previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Must have a good knowledge of a wide range of trades
  • HND/HNC or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent literary/numeracy skills, capable knowledge of Outlook/Word/Excel/Project (or similar planning software)
  • Experience in restoration/heritage works is beneficial
  • Training will be provided

Interpersonal skills:

  • Excellent time and people management skills
  • Self-motivated and a pro-active approach is essential
  • Must work well as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills with ability to produce clear documentation to colleagues or clients alike.
  • Attention to detail to achieve work of top quality

Monday to Friday, occasional weekend work

Competitive Salary + package (neg for the right candidate)

Range £25-£35,000 p.a.

COVID-19 considerations:  Interviews will be held at the Head Office.

All attendees to the offices are currently required to observe PPE and social distancing requirements.
